TANGENT & SECANT PILE WALLS

Secant piles are a series of drilled shafts in a sequence where one shaft is drilled in between and through part of two adjacent shafts, which can create a waterproof barrier or cutoff wall. Tangent piles are a series of drilled shafts placed one right next to another (tangent). Secant drilling can be used to remove contaminated soils from a precise area and depth. They can also be used as a SOE wall or a foundation wall in lieu of a slurry wall.
