Hub teamed up with Keller North America to tackle the formidable task of the MBTA’s Green Line Extension, otherwise known as GLX. We worked for over two years on the extensive earth retention and drilled shafts for the job. Hub drilled seven- and eight-foot diameter shafts for the overhead ramps required to get the Green Line over the existing track; hundreds of holes for permanent and temporary H beam SOE systems along the right of way; and an endless number of tiebacks and soil nails for this expansive project. Hub’s scope of work also included low headroom and unrestricted headroom micropiles. Dynamic scheduling and design coordination necessitated clear and constant communication, which Hub delivered.
